CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon Tech middle blocker Aleksen Thayer was honored as Cascade Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office.
 
The senior, from Truckee, Calif., was a dominant force at the net during the HIU SummerSlam, leading the Lady Owls to a perfect 4-0 record.
 
Thayer combined for 33 blocks in the four matches, averaging 1.89 blocks per set, while adding 19 kills. Against La Sierra, she posted a season-high 11 blocks, the third time in Thayer's career she has recorded 10-or-more blocks in a match.
 
She heads into the week leading the CCC in blocks per set (1.62).
