Lady Owls Drop 4-1 Decision to SOU, Will Play Sunday at 11

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Ayla Davies tossed a complete game 3-hitter, lifting Southern Oregon past Oregon Tech, 4-1, in the semifinals of the Cascade Conference Softball Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Stilwell Stadium.

The No. 3-seed Raiders (40-13) move into tomorrow's title game at 1:30 p.m., where they will meet the winner of Sunday's 11 a.m. opener between OIT and College of Idaho.

Brooke Nordahl staked SOU to a 2-0 lead in the opening frame, lining a 2-run double to left, with Avery Coffin extending the lead in the fourth with a line-drive 2-run homer to center.

Davies capitalized on a stiff breeze blowing in from center, getting 15 fly ball outs and limiting the No. 1-seed Lady Owls (41-7) to two singles and a fourth inning solo homer from Addison Kachnik, needing 72 pitches for the complete game effort.

Earlier in the day, College of Idaho outlasted Simpson in 10 innings, 3-2, as Kina Watts tied the game in the seventh with an RBI single and Chloe Flerchinger won the game in the tenth with a walk-off sacrifice fly.

Eastern Oregon scored the final nine runs in a 9-1 win to eliminate British Columbia, as a Hope Burke 2-run double ignited a 6-run third inning rally for the Mounties. However, EOU could not keep the offense going, as Watts limited the Mounties to five hits, as C of I eliminated the 2-time defending CCC tourney champs, 4-2, in a game delayed by 90 minutes due to lightning.
