SALEM, Ore. – Corban made 12 of their first 13 shots to open the second half, as the Warriors stunned No. 22-ranked Oregon Tech, 90-70, inside the C.E. Jeffers Center.
Corban (11-12, 7-8 CCC) made a season-high 62% of their field goals and forced 24 OIT turnovers in the victory.
The Hustlin' Owls took a 22-14 first half lead after a 3-pointer from
Dakota Reber, but the Warriors used a 9-2 run to get back into the contest, with Tech clinging to a 42-40 halftime lead.
From there, it was all Corban, as the hosts used a 10-2 run, keyed by Anjay Cortez, who scored 8-straight points, giving the Warriors a 56-47 lead. OIT was within 60-53 following a Reber lay-up, but transition baskets from Cortez and Joe Gould fueled an 8-0 run – with the lead remaining above 13 points the rest of the night.
Reber led Tech with 23 points and
Jared Sucher scored 12, but miscues cost the Owls, as Corban scored 25 points off the OIT turnovers.
Tj Zimmerman led five scorers in double-figures with 20 points, with Cortez scoring a season-high 19.
The Owls close out the road trip tomorrow at Bushnell.
