LA GRANDE, Ore. –
Aiden Corkery combined for six RBI on the afternoon, as the road weary Oregon Tech baseball team opened up a 4-game Cascade Conference series at Eastern Oregon with 9-5 and 9-3 victories at Optimist Field.
The Hustlin' Owls (10-6, 3-3 CCC) played their 15th and 16th-straight road games to start the 2026 season, grabbing early leads in both ends of the twinbill to even their league record.
Corkery capped a 5-run first inning rally for Tech in Game 1, lining a grand slam over the short porch in right-center field. The lead grew to 7-0 in the third on a
Nick Gimino single, but EOU (3-10, 1-4) rallied, cutting the lead to 7-3 in the bottom of the inning on a 2-run Mario Landeros double.
Run scoring doubles from
Dylan Edwards and
Logan Macy in the seventh extended the lead to 9-3, but the Mounties plated two in the ninth and loaded the bases. Enter
Marcos Ulloa-Ford, who needed four pitches to fan Tucker Zander to end the game.
Corkery was 3-for-5, with
Andrew Sharp and
Logan Pontecorvo posting 2-hit games.
Carson Glavich earned his first win, allowing four runs in five-plus innings, with
Caleb Randolph allowing just one hit in three innings of relief.
OIT used the home run ball early in Game 2, as
Cal Pickhardt hit a 3-run dinger in the second to stake the guests to a lead. Leading 3-2 in the fifth, the Owls pulled away, as Corkery lined a 2-run double, while three innings later, Gimino and Macy ripped RBI singles.
Crew Howell tossed three-plus innings of shutout relief, striking out five, to earn the win. Sharp was the lone Tech player with a multi-hit game, going 2-for-5.
The two teams close out the series with a Sunday doubleheader at 11 a.m.
