KLAMATH FALLS –
Tiffini Goss posted 10 kills and four blocks, but it wasn't enough for Oregon Tech, as the Lady Owls dropped a 25-22, 25-19, 25-13 decision to No. 5-ranked College of Idaho at Danny Miles Court.
The Yotes (21-2, 14-2 CCC) middles were the key, as Abigail Flerchinger had 12 kills an Addison McKarcher posted 11, with the two combining on eight blocks, as C of I completed a season sweep of Tech.
OIT (12-12, 6-10) controlled most of Set 1, taking a 20-16 lead on a
Lucy Boyd kill, but the visitors closed the set on a 9-2 run, including a pair of Flerchinger kills to steal the period.
Goss posted a kill in Set 2 to get the Owls within 18-15, but a McKarcher block fueled a 7-1 run to end the set. The Yotes dominated Set 3, opening the set on a 9-1 run, extending the lead to 20-8 on a Keylee Wilson ace, one of eight aces from the guests.
Aleksen Thayer finished with seven kills and four blocks for the Owls, with
Kaley Whalen recording a match-high 17 digs – moving seven digs away from OIT's all-time record.
Shaynee McWilliams had four kills, 39 assists, six digs and four blocks for the Yotes.
Tech hits the road next weekend for matches at Northwest and Evergreen State.
