COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Oregon Tech opened the 2026 portion of the women's basketball season in dominant fashion, converting 52% of their field goal attempts and using a 51-20 rebound edge in an 88-54 victory over Walla Walla at Windemuth Court.
The Lady Owls (9-5, 4-1 CCC) opened the game on a 22-5 run, as
Tatum Schmerbach scored 16 of her game-high 24 points in the first half, improving to 24-0 all-time against the Wolves.
All 11 of the OIT players in uniform scored in the victory – including Schmerbach, who recorded her 19th-straight game with 10-or-more points. The junior added eight rebounds in the victory.
Jozie Ramos posted her second-consecutive double-double, scoring 18 points with 11 rebounds, while
Olivia Sprague scored 14 points, adding eight rebounds and five assists.
Tech improved to 8-0 on the season when scoring 70-or-more points in a game.
The Wolves (2-9, 0-5) had four players in double-figures, led by 20 points from Jaylo Bello, but were forced into 21 turnovers.
OIT heads to Lewis-Clark State tomorrow afternoon for a Top-25 showdown with the Warriors. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. on 104.3 & 960 Sports.
