COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Oregon Tech converted 11 of their first 12 field goal attempts, jumping out to a 24-9 lead, as the Hustlin' Owls ran their win streak to five with a 108-64 victory over Walla Walla at Windemuth Court.
OIT (10-3, 5-0 CCC) dominated the opening 20 minutes, making 66% of their field goals – getting 14 points from
Dakota Reber, 12 points from
Grant Tull and 11 from
Jared Sucher – taking a 61-34 lead to the break. The lead grew to 94-48 on a
Gylan Payne lay-up with seven minutes left in the contest.
Rebounding was the story, as Tech finished with a 60-31 edge on the glass, including 28 offensive rebounds – their highest total since the 2014-15 season (30 vs. Multnomah). All 13 players that saw action in the win had at least two rebounds.
Tull scored a career-high 17 points and Reber added 17 points in the win, with
Jackson Cooper finishing with five points, seven rebounds and 11 assists – his second-straight double-figure assist game. Sucher scored 16, Payne had 12 points, eight rebounds and three blocks, with
James Kefgen scoring a career-high 10.
Owen Nathan added eight points and six assists in the victory.
Jordan Jackson scored 20 in the loss for WWU (0-11, 0-5), as the Wolves were outscored 25-5 in second chance points.
