CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon Tech freshman Cayson VanBeekum was named McDonald's Cascade Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network.
 
The first-year player from Ogden, Utah, earned medalist honors in the Owls opening event, helping Tech take second at the Walla Walla Invitational.
 
VanBeekum tied the OIT single-round school record with a first-round 7-under-par 65, while establishing a new school-record for 54-hole score with a 14-under-par 202 – claiming the overall win by two strokes.
 
OIT return to the course in two weeks, hosting the Run-In at the Ranch at the Running Y Resort.
