Lady Owls Sweep Pacific, Run Win Streak to 11

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Oregon Tech pitchers limited Pacific University to five hits on the afternoon, running their winning streak to 11 games with 11-1 and 5-1 victories at Judy Sherman Field.

Carli Moore tossed four 1-hit innings in the opener, while Alli Parker threw five shutout innings in the nightcap, as Tech (19-3) dominated the Division III opponent.

The Boxers (3-9) opened the scoring in Game 1, as Jenna Wheeler reached on an error and scored on a Kaimalino Ingram single – the only hit of the game for the hosts.

OIT would answer with 11 unanswered runs – taking the lead in the third, as Malia Mick triple home and run and scored on a Nita Cook squeeze bunt. The Owls scored four runs in the fourth, including a 2-run Sawyer Stenson double and a Zoe Allen RBI triple, adding five runs in the fifth, with Marla Goodspeed providing the big blow with a 2-run double.

Allen was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and Goodspeed had three RBI in the win.

Game 2 was dominated by Parker, who struck out seven to claim the victory. Tech took a 2-0 lead in the second, as a throwing error on a Jazmine Macias double allowed a run to score, with Macias scoring on a Hayden Rockwell single. Two innings later, Cook doubled home a pair and Puakea Milbourne plated a run with an RBI single.

Milbourne, Rockwell and Leah Huffman each had two hits for Tech.

The Lady Owls continue their 10-game road swing on Wednesday, traveling to Ashland for a No. 1 vs. No. 2 match-up vs. rival Southern Oregon.
