Kam Osborn scored 25 points in the first half, one of seven Oregon Tech players in double-figures, as the Hustlin' Owls surpassed the century mark in a 109-97 victory at Walla Walla University.
Tech (19-6, 15-4 CCC) moved one-half game ahead of Lewis-Clark State for second-place in the Cascade Conference standings heading into Tuesday's rivalry match-up at Southern Oregon (7:30 p.m. – Live on 92.5 KLAD-FM)
The Owls converted 14 3-point baskets on the night – including three consecutive triples by Osborn that built OIT a 35-25 first half lead. Osborn made five 3-pointers in the frame, helping his club take a 62-49 lead.
Tech methodically pulled away, as
Dakota Reber canned a trey and followed with a steal and transition dunk to push the margin to 79-57, with an
Erik Fraser 3-pointer giving the visitors their largest lead of the night at 99-74.
Reber recorded season-highs with 17 points and nine rebounds, with Fraser and
Keegan Shivers each scoring 14.
Jackson Cooper tallied 12,
Jared Sucher scored a career-high 12, with
Jamison Guerra scoring 11. Tech finished 27-of-34 at the free throw line and posted 20 offensive rebounds.
WWU (4-20, 3-17), who allowed 100 or more points for the fourth-straight game, got a season-high 27 points from Almonds Sebrokwa, with Andrew Vaughan scoring 24.
