OPPONENT PREVIEW – UNIVERSITY OF THE CUMBERLANDS: The trip begins in Williamsburg, Ky., with a match-up against an up-tempo University of the Cumberlands team. The Patriots (6-1), ranked No. 19, began the year with 6-straight wins before a weekend loss to Marian, as UC is coming off a trip to the third-round of the NAIA Tournament. The squad averages 86 points a game, making 46% of field goal attempts, while forcing 22 turnovers a game. All-Mid-South Conference pick Laken Burke (9.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg) is joined up front by 6-foot-4 post Zaram Fredricks (9.3 ppg, 10.9 rpg), along with guards Joy Kendrick (15.6 ppg, 4.0 rpg) and Jaydyn Carrico (10.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg).
 
OPPONENT PREVIEW – FREED-HARDEMAN: Tech heads westward near Nashville, meeting No. 6-ranked Freed-Hardeman in Hendersonville, Tenn., a true perennial NAIA power, having qualified for 27 of the last 28 national tournaments – reaching the 2025 quarterfinals. The Lions (8-0) are perfect this season, with all eight wins by double-digit margins, holding opponents to 50 points a game and a 30% field goal clip. All-MSC guard Rachel Satterly (11.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg) returns, part of an offense that converts 38% of 3-point tries. 6-foot-2 post Lilly Kee (15.6 ppg, 5.9 rpg) is the top scorer, joined by Jenna Satterly (14.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg) and Carissa Curtis (10.5 ppg, 2.3 rpg).
 
OPPONENT PREVIEW – LINDSEY WILSON: The weeklong tour ends in Columbia, Ky., with a match-up against No. 24-ranked Lindsey Wilson, looking to extend a string of 9-straight national tournament trips. The Blue Raiders (4-2) are averaging 75 points a game and making 41% of field goal attempts, with the team coming off losses to Georgia Gwinnett and Tennessee Southern. Eastern Kentucky transfer Semyah Shelton (9.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg) and All-MSC guard Taylor Guess (9.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg) are off to tremendous starts, along with Meadow Tisdale (15.3 ppg, 7.8 rpg) along with Amelia Hodges (10.7 ppg, 2.3 rpg).
 
TOP-25 GAUNTLET: The Lady Owls dropped one spot in the first regular-season Top-25 poll of the season, sitting in the No. 15 position heading into a 5-game road trip. The three-state excursion will pit OIT against five consecutive teams in the poll – No. 6 Freed-Hardeman, No. 14 Carroll, No. 17 Rocky Mountain, No. 19 Cumberlands and No. 24 Lindsey Wilson – the toughest stretch of games in program history.
 
FURTHEST EAST FOR THE OWLS: Prior to last season (an opening trip to Iowa), the Lady Owls had never made a regular-season trip outside the West Coast footprint (Washington, Idaho, Oregon, California). Tech has played national tournament games in Iowa (Sioux City), Montana (Helena) and Indiana (Indianapolis) – but the upcoming trip is the furthest east any OIT (men's or women's) team has traveled during the regular-season (men's basketball has previously traveled to Indiana and Alabama, while also traveling westward to Hawaii and Alaska).
 
AGAINST THE MID-SOUTH: The three games mark Tech's first-ever match-ups against the Mid-South Conference, one of the top NAIA women's basketball leagues. All seven teams in the MSC were in the NAIA preseason Top-25 – including Bethel (Tenn.) and Campbellsville (Ky.), who sit at No. 2 and No. 3. OIT has never played a team from Kentucky, with the Lady Owls playing one Tennessee squad – a loss to Milligan at last season's NAIA Tournament.
 
3-0 STARTS: OIT improved to 3-0 on the season with a 110-72 victory over Park Gilbert at the Lithia Classic, the fourth 3-0 start in the past 10 seasons – and the ninth 3-0 start in program history. The Lady Owls are chasing the all-time season-opening record of 14-0, set during the 2023-24 season.
 
RECORD-SETTING NIGHT: Offense reigned on Saturday afternoon, as the Lady Owls surpassed the 90-point mark for the 43rd time, the 100-point mark for the 17th time and the 110-point mark for the fourth time and first-time ever at Danny Miles Court. It was the most points scored by an OIT women's team since 2017, converting 59% of field goal attempts in the victory. Tech set a school record with 33 assists in the victory, posting an assist on 33-of-43 made shots. Six players scored in double-figures – the first time by the Lady Owls since 2021 – while combining for nine blocked shots.
 
SPRAGUE MAKES LONG ANTICIPATED RETURN: After 379 days away from the court due to injury (sustained in the 2024-25 season opener at Northwestern), two-time All-American Olivia Sprague finally returned to action – and did not disappoint. The senior made an immediate impact, scoring 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting, adding seven rebounds and seven assists. Sprague moved within 41 points of the 1,400-point mark for her career.
 
JUNIORS CONTINUE TO IMPRESS: The trio of Tatum Schmerbach, Jozie Ramos and Kendall Fealey were instrumental in the big win on Saturday – each putting up big numbers. Schmerbach just missed a triple-double for the third-straight game, scoring 11 points, with 10 assists and eight rebounds – becoming the fourth OIT player with multiple double-digit assist games. Ramos was dominant on both ends of the floor, leading Tech with 17 points, adding eight rebounds, while setting a new career-high with five blocks. Fealey scored eight points, while leading the team with three steals.
 
SOPHOMORES HAVE CAREER NIGHTS: Sophomores Brooke Anderson and Avery Andrews continued quality starts to the 2025-26 seasons, each posting big numbers vs. Park Gilbert. Anderson tied career-highs with 15 points and five assists, finishing 6-for-7 from the field – including a 3-for-3 performance from 3-point range. Andrews scored a career-high 14 points and tied a career-high with eight rebounds – using a size advantage on the block to her advantage.
 
AROUND THE CCC: Both College of Idaho and Corban had 2-0 weeks – C of I earning road wins at Hope International and La Sierra, with Corban topping Western Oregon and George Fox. This week, four teams (Southern Oregon, Bushnell, Walla Walla and Evergreen) play Division II foes, Eastern Oregon and C of I tangle with Northern New Mexico and The Master's, with LC State heading to Ohio for games against Shawnee State and Rio Grande.
 
LEAGUE / NATIONAL LEADERS: As a team, the Lady Owls lead the CCC and rank in the Top-10 in field goal percentage (.515) and scoring average (92.7). In addition, Tatum Schmerbach leads the CCC and s No. 4 in the NAIA in assists per game (8.7), while leading the league in scoring average (20.7) and No. 3 in rebound average (8.0), with Jozie Ramos leading the CCC (No. 8 in the NAIA) in blocks per game (2.7) and No. 3 in field goal percentage (.621).
 
SUCCESS AT DANNY MILES COURT: Danny Miles Court has been a difficult place for opponents since Tech brought women's basketball back as a varsity sport in 2002. Over the past 24 seasons, the Lady Owls have won 76-percent of their home dates – posting a stellar 261-81 overall record – including a 1-0 mark this season. The 2012-13 squad finished the year with a 15-1 mark, while a season later, the Owls had a 16-2 record – at one point winning 19-consecutive home games. Every season since women's basketball returned to Tech in 2002-03, the Owls have had a winning record every season on their home floor.
 
TECH PICKED SECOND IN CCC POLL: For the second-straight year, OIT was picked second in the 2025-26 Cascade Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, released on Oct. 17. The Lady Owls received three first-place votes and 102 points from the 11 league coaches – trailing only Lewis-Clark State (110), with Southern Oregon (101) and College of Idaho (100) right behind Tech.

SCORING 90, ALLOWING UNDER 50 EQUAL WINS: OIT has scored 90-or-more points in a game 43 times, posting a 40-3 record in the high-scoring contests. The Lady Owls are riding a 99-game win streak when allowing fewer than 50 points in a game, recording a 173-8 record in such games (last loss occurred in 2012, a 42-40 setback at Eastern Oregon).
