Tatum Schmerbach was honored today as McDonald's / Urban Edge Network Cascade Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
The junior was dominant in the Lady Owls victories over Simpson and The Master's at the Raider Classic in Ashland – averaging 25.5 points, eight rebounds and eight assists per game – converting 50% of her field goals
Schmerbach had 17 points, seven rebounds and nine assists in the 84-50 win over Simpson, while erupting for 34 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the 84-80 overtime win over TMU. The 34-point effort was the most points by an OIT women's player in 39 years.
Tech returns to action this weekend, meeting Park Gilbert on Saturday at 3 p.m. as part of the Lithia Classic.
