CALDWELL, Idaho – Battling the No. 19-ranked team in the NAIA,
Savanna Sterck and
Willow Jacobson combined for 15 kills, but Oregon Tech could not overcome 25 attack errors in a 25-20, 25-12, 31-29 loss at College of Idaho.
Sterck had eight kills, Jacobson had seven kills, with
Lucy Boyd recording 22 assists and seven digs in the loss for the Lady Owls (10-13, 4-12 CCC).
C of I (15-8, 9-7) broke a 14-14 tie in Set 1 with a 5-0 run, helped by consecutive Alexa Wheeler blocks, to grab a set win, while rolling in the middle set after opening with an 18-7 lead.
Set 3 was much closer, as Tech rallied from a 12-7 deficit, earning set points at 24-23, 27-26 and 29-28, but the hosts proved to be too tough, scoring three-straight points to end the match.
Brooke Garman and Mia Hutchinson each had 11 kills for the Coyotes.
OIT returns home next weekend, hosting Northwest on Friday and Evergreen State on Saturday.
