SALEM, Ore. – Oregon Tech turned nine first quarter turnovers into 14 points, outscoring Corban 27-9 over the opening 10 minutes, as the Lady Owls completed a road sweep in the Willamette Valley, rolling to an 89-63 win inside the C.E. Jeffers Center.
Gabbie Gascon scored 25 points and
Jozie Ramos added a season-high 20, helping the Lady Owls (8-3, 4-1 CCC) remain one-game back of league-leading Southern Oregon heading into the Christmas Break.
OIT scored the first six points, including transition baskets from
Alexis Elquist and
Kennedy Tull off Warrior (4-7, 2-3) turnovers. Gascon followed with a pair of 3-pointers and Ramos converted a 3-point play, part of a 12-0 run that gave Tech a 29-9 lead. The onslaught continued, as Gascon and Ramos combined to score the final nine points of the half – building a 51-23 lead at the break – a margin that would not fall below 22 points the rest of the night.
Tech shot a season-best 55% from the field, including 5-of-12 shots from 3-point range and held a 35-25 edge on the glass. Ramos was 9-of-10 from the field, adding five rebounds and four steals, with Gascon converting 9-of-11 field goal attempts.
Tull had nine points and seven rebounds, with
Tatum Schmerbach scoring nine points and a career-best 12 assists.
Corban was led by a 13-point effort by Mandie Jensen, as the Owls held the hosts to 39% shooting on the evening.
