Dakota Reber each scored 15 points, leading Oregon Tech to a 107-75 victory over Linfield University on Day 1 of the Lithia Classic at Danny Miles Court.
The No. 18-ranked Hustlin' Owls (3-1) made 59-percent of their field goal attempts and held a commanding 52-26 rebound margin in Tech's first win against Linfield since 1991.
Guerra keyed an early 7-0 run with a driving lay-up and a 3-pointer, helping the hosts take a 29-18 lead.
Erik Fraser added a trey,
Blake Jensen converted a 3-point play, with Reber scoring consecutive baskets in a 10-1 run that pushed the margin to 41-26.
Leading 51-41 at the break, OIT put the game out of reach early in the second half, as Jensen converted on the block, Reber splashed a fallaway jumper, with
Jay Elmore and Guerra knocking down back-to-back triples to give the hosts a 66-45 edge.
Guerra finished the night with nine assists and five rebounds, with Jensen and
Jackson Cooper each adding 13 points and seven rebounds. In all, 14 of the 15 OIT players who took the floor got into the scoring column.
The Wildcats (1-3) were paced by a 26-point night from Dayton Magana, with Cade Collins adding 15. Tech held Linfield to 32-percent shooting on the night.
In the early game, Arizona Christian rallied from an 8-point deficit in the final 25 seconds to force overtime, outlasting Southern Oregon, 93-89.
Tomorrow SOU meets Linfield at 3 p.m. with Tech and ACU closing out the tournament at 7:30 p.m.
