COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Six Oregon Tech players scored in double-figures, as the Hustlin' Owls rode 57-percent shooting from the field to a 104-78 victory over Walla Walla University inside Windemuth Court.
The victory for the Hustlin' Owls (12-2, 7-1 CCC) extended their win streak to 6-in-a-row – improving to 14-0 all-time against the Washington school.
Tech used a 13-0 run early in the game to take a 15-4 lead – getting 5-straight points from
Kody Bauman and 3-pointers from
Keegan Shivers and
Kam Osborn in the flurry.
The Wolves (3-11, 3-8) made six first half 3-pointers – including a long triple from Andrew Vaughan to get the hosts within 43-40 late in the period. OIT answered with a 3-point assault of their own – as treys from
Erik Fraser, Osborn and
Jay Elmore finished off a 14-4 run to end the frame, extending the margin to 57-44. Osborn, Shivers and Fraser opened the second half with 3-pointers – as the lead grew to 66-46, with the Owls easing to the win.
Osborn finished with 18 points and a season-high six assists and Shivers logged his third double-double in his last four games with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Elmore scored 15 points off the bench, Fraser and Bauman each scored 13, with
Jackson Cooper chipping in 11.
OIT had a 45-29 edge in rebounding in improving to 7-0 on the road this season.
Ethan Ford and Soren Dalan each scored 16 points for the Wolves, who saw their losing streak reach eight games.
