Savanna Sterck and
Molly Grace was not enough for Oregon Tech, as the Lady Owls dropped a 25-18, 25-20, 25-18 decision to host College of Idaho inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
Tech (2-7, 0-2 CCC) led just once in the match, as the Coyotes used a 45-30 edge in kills and a season-high .287 hitting percentage to break a 6-match losing streak to the Owls.
C of I (3-7, 1-1) used a 9-2 run in Set 1 to break open a close game, while two Janae Rayborn kills started a 4-0 run to extend a 20-19 lead, helping the Yotes take a 2-set lead. The Owls were within 12-10 in Set 3, but Jade Warren had five of her nine kills in the waning moments of the match – handing the Idaho school the win.
Sterck finished with 11 kills and Grace added 10 kills in the loss, with the duo combining for just three attack errors.
Aubrey Stennett recorded a double-double, recording 19 assists and 13 digs.
Rayborn led C of I with 14 kills, with setter Savannah Hutchins posting 23 assists and 10 digs.
OIT returns home Friday night to host Lewis-Clark State at 7 p.m.
