CCC Baseball Championships Moved to Springfield

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Due to a deluge of rain over the past 72 hours in the Klamath Basin and unplayable field conditions at both Steen Sports Park and Kiger Stadium, the Cascade Conference has moved the site of the 2023 Baseball Championships to Hamlin Sports Park in Springfield.
Heavy rain overnight, along with a mid-morning thunderstorm washed out the scheduled elimination game between Oregon Tech and Lewis-Clark State. With uncertainty if either facility could be able to host games Tuesday and Wednesday, the league office made the move to shift the games to the artifical turf surface used by Bushnell University.
The OIT-LCSC game will be played at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, with the winner meeting British Columbia for the CCC title at 5:30 p.m. An if-necessary championship game (if either OIT or LCSC defeats UBC) would be played Wednesday at 11 a.m.
The tournament was to being on Saturday - but heavy rain pushed the tournament back 24 hours. Four games were played yesterday, as UBC is the lone unbeaten team after earning a 5-1 win over College of Idaho and a 4-2 win over LCSC. OIT dropped their first game to LCSC, 14-2, but rebounded late last night to eliminate C of I, 9-0.
