McMillen and Stevens Compete on Day 2 at Nationals

MARION, Ind. – Nick McMillen capped his Oregon Tech career with a 27th-place finish in the 5,000-meter preliminaries at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
 
Competing at Indiana Wesleyan University, McMillen finished 15th-overall in the first of two preliminary sections – clocking a time of 15:16.86. It was the senior's third trip to the NAIA Championships.
 
Eli Stevens closed out the 2-day decathlon, placing 15th overall, recording 5,867 points. The freshman earned the bulk of his points on the day in two events – placing second in the pole vault (4.20 meters / 13 feet, 9.25 inches) and fourth in the 1,500-meters (4:49.46). He opened the day with a time of 20.63 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles, tossed the discus 30.69 meters (100 feet, 8 inches) and recorded a mark of 42.39 meters (139 feet, 1 inch) in the javelin.
 
OIT closes out the track season tomorrow, as Chris Martinez competes in the pole vault.
