KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Keegan Shivers flirted with a triple-double, anchoring a potent Oregon Tech offensive attack, as the Hustlin' Owls connected on 59-percent of their field goal attempts in a 109-82 exhibition win over the Seattle Mountaineers.

Shivers scored 23 points, adding 13 rebounds and seven assists – one of five OIT players in double-figures – helping the hosts make 27-of-35 second half shots.

"We did a great job running the lanes tonight," said head coach Justin Parnell. "We were able to push the ball and our bigs were able to get easy baskets in transition."

Travion Brown gave the club team a 15-14 lead with a lay-up five minutes into the game, but freshman Jackson Cooper scored on back-to-back possessions, Kody Bauman converted on the block, Jay Elmore canned a trey  – part of a 14-3 run. Shivers capped the first half with a 3-ball, as Tech took a 50-34 lead to the break.

A Brown triple cut the margin to 84-70 with nine minutes left, but a triple from Shivers and back-to-back inside buckets from Bauman keyed a 7-0 run that put the game away.

Blake Jensen scored 18 points with 10 rebounds in the win, with Kam Osborn scoring 17. Elmore scored 16, Bauman posted 12 and Cooper tallied nine for the Hustlin' Owls. Tech finished with 68 points in the paint, adding 22 fast break points.

Brown and Kobe Powell each had 17 points for Seattle – playing their fourth game of the 2023-24 season.

The Hustlin' Owls open up the regular-season on Thursday night, hosting Simpson University at 7:30 p.m. – with the game carried live on 92.5 KLAD-FM and on the Owls Sports Network.
