Men's Golf
August 15, 2022
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Both the Oregon Tech men's and women's golf teams were picked to be among the favorites in the 2022-23 Cascade Conference Preseason Coaches' Polls, released today by the league office.
The Lady Owls were picked to finish second in the 8-team circuit, while the OIT men were tabbed as the No. 3 team in the 9-team division.
The Tech women return three of their top-four players, including former NAIA All-American,
Payton Canon. The squad received 54 voter points - trailing only British Columbia, the unanimous favorite after winning the NAIA national title in 2021-22. Lewis-Clark State was picked third, followed by Corban and College of Idaho.
The OIT men must replace 4-time All-CCC selection,
Mayson Tibbs, but return
Hunter Eberhardt and
Michael Gray, along with an outstanding recruiting class. UBC also held the top spot, followed by LCSC, the Owls, Bushnell and C of I.
Both squads will open the season on Sept. 4, competing in the 3-day Coastal Collegiate Classic on the Oregon Coast.
