SALEM, Ore. - Rain and cold temperatures forced tournament officials to cancel the final round of the Corban Invitational at Creekside Golf Club.
Scores reverted back to the totals at the end of Day 1 - with the Oregon Tech men finishing in a tie for second-place, with the Lady Owls placing third-overall.
"Our men played well in the tough conditions," said head coach
Dave Myers. "Beating a top team like British Columbia in the second round is solid and finishing three players in the Top-10 going into the conference championship indicates we are working toward peaking at just the right time."
Mayson Tibbs led OIT with a third-place finish (+4, 148), with
Hunter Eberhardt and
Preston Luckman tying for ninth-place (+8, 152).
Maiya Baker led the Lady Owls with a seventh-place effort after a opening round 7-over-par 79, with
Quincy Beyrouty shooting a 82, tying for 12th.
"Maiya put together a pretty solid round on Day 1 in cold, wet and windy conditions," Myers said. "As a group, we did not play up to our potential, but I know the team learned from their experiences and will continue to work hard in preparation for the CCC Championships."
OIT will have next week off, preparing to host the Cascade Conference Championships, April 25 and 26, at Eagle Point Golf Course.
