Lady Owls in 3rd Place After Day 1 of Corban Invite

SALEM, Ore. – Battling cold, rainy conditions, the Oregon Tech women's golf team overcame the elements to shoot an opening round 329 – sitting in third-place after Day 1 of the Corban Invitational at Creekside Golf Club.
The Lady Owls sit six strokes behind second-place Northwest Nazarene (323), with the two squads chasing the leader in the clubhouse, British Columbia (300), as the T-Birds posted the top five individual scores of the round.
Maiya Baker led OIT with an opening round 79 – just five strokes off the lead of UBC's Elizabeth Labbe, who carded a 2-over-par 74.
Quincy Beyrouty sits in 12th-place (82), while a trio of Tech players are tied for 16th-place, as
Ashley Zhu,
Payton Canon and
Grace Hull each shot 84. Playing as an individual,
Kirsten Reed opened the tournament with an 86, sitting in 22nd-place.
Day 2 of the tournament begins tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
