CORVALLIS, Ore. – Three Oregon Tech Lady Owls received Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) 2021-22 Women's Basketball All-Conference recognition on Tuesday morning as the conference's top performers were announced for the winter season.
 
Tech's Shelby Blodgett (FR, Clatskanie, Ore.) was named to Freshman of the Year as she had a solid collegiate debut, leading the Owls to an overall 19-11 record. She finished the year averaging 13.0 points per game (15th in the CCC) on 43.8-percent shooting. Blodgett also averaged 8.0 rebounds per game (9th in the CCC) and had 16 blocks on the year.
 
Tech's Maddyson Tull (SO, Gridley, Calif.) earned All-Conference accolades as she was second on the team in scoring and rebounding, 12.5 ppg / 5.7 rpg, and led the Cascade conference in field goal percentage at .588
 
Freshman Olivia Sprague (FR, Clatskanie, Ore.) was also recognized with Honorable Mention honors. Sprague averaged 10.2 ppg and led the team with 43 steals on the year.
 
"We think there were a lot of deserving players up for all-conference honors this season as league play was so very close," said head coach Scott Meredith. "I'm really happy for Maddy Tull as she has been one of our hardest workers and she put in considerable time to get into great physical shape and really became a high percentage shooter around the basket. She is a solid defender, a tremendous leader and was rock solid for us all season long."
 
"We are thrilled Shelby and Olivia got recognized for their amazing freshman seasons. Shelby was very deserving of Freshman of the Year honors, and if she wasn't going to get it, Olivia would have. The coaches also chose Shelby over a number of deserving upperclassmen for First-Team All-Conference honors and that was truly earned through her determined play and outstanding numbers. She led us in scoring and rebounding and became a go-to player in crunch time. Olivia was the only Freshman who earned All-Conference Honorable Mention, an honor also well-deserved as she evolved into one of the league's most dynamic players and became a leader at both ends of the floor for us," concluded Meredith.
