LEWISTON, ID. — The Oregon Tech Lady Owls (19-10, 12-10) almost ended their regular season campaign with a bang but fell just short to #21 Lewis-Clark State (25-3, 19-3) on Saturday. Despite the loss, the Lady Owls locked up the 5-seed on Saturday and will travel to Eugene to face Bushnell on Tuesday in the conference quarterfinals.
Following the defeat, HC Scott Meredith said: "I couldn't be prouder of how our team competed against the number 1 team in our conference on the road. Even in a loss, I feel we played one of our best overall games versus a quality opponent. We can use this effort as a springboard going into the conference tournament. "

With the opportunity to knock off the top team in the conference on Saturday, Tech fell just short in their regular-season finale in Lewiston.
In the first quarter, Tech caught the hosts off guard, outshooting the Warriors to grab a 17-15 lead after one.
In the second quarter, the Lady Owls continued to outshoot the Warriors, but LC was able to outscore Tech by two to knot the score at the break.
As they did in the first quarter, Tech came out on fire in the second, building a lead that stretched as high as eight.
The Lady Owls used their best defensive period to hold the Warriors to just 13 points, grabbing a 50-47 lead with ten minutes to play.
With the slim lead, Tech held on for a bit, but ultimately the Warrior's experience and ability to get to the line three times more than the Owls proved to be the difference.
Down the stretch, LC shot 54% from the field and 90% from the line to pull away and cap their regular season as CCC champs.
The Lady Owls registered three players in double figures on Saturday:
Kristin Farrell: 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting with four rebounds
Shelby Blodgett: 15 points on 7-of-19 shooting with six rebounds
Maddyson Tull: 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting with 12 rebounds (double-double)
Olivia Sprague also contributed well, scoring six points, with a game-high eight assists and four rebounds.
Callie Stevens led the Warriors, who had 22 points on 6-of-17 shooting.
Tech will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Eugene to take on Bushnell in the CCC Tournament Quarterfinals.
The upcoming conference tournament bracket looks as such:
#8 The College of Idaho @ #1 Lewis-Clark State
#5 Oregon Tech @ #4 Bushnell
#6 Warner-Pacific @ #3 Eastern Oregon
