TEMPE, AZ. - Oregon Tech suffered a walk-off defeat 3-2 to Midland University in game one of Thursday's doubleheader before falling in game two 21-8 to Arizona Christian (10-1). The losses for Tech knocks their record down to 6-4, but they'll have a chance to avenge their two losses on Friday and Saturday in the final games of the Firestorm Classic.

Following the day, head coach
Jacob Garsez said: "Our success has and will come from our commitment to our process and to staying true to who we are. We got away from that today. Big learning moment for all of us."

Game One: Midland University 3 Oregon Tech 2

Once again, in the opening game of the weekend slate,
Dylan Grogan was on fire, dealing another solid performance on the hill.
Â
The senior went six innings allowing no runs on two hits while walking three and striking out nine.
Â
When Grogan exited, the game was tied, after OIT gave up an unearned run in the bottom of third.
Â
From the fourth through the eight inning, both sides would go quiet, as Tech was able to get a plethora of hits but no run support for their pitcher.

In the ninth inning, Tech would plate a run in the top half, but Midland loaded the bases in the bottom half, eventually doubling to deep center to win the game for the Warriors.

The loss was charged to
Braeden Bellum who went two innings allowing two runs on four hits.

Tech was led at the plate by
Tyler Horner who went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Â
The Warriors were led by Thornton who went 3-for-3 in a player of the game worthy performance.

Game Two: Arizona Christian 21 Oregon Tech 8
Â
In game two, Arizona Christian exploded for 21 runs on 19 hits.

The Owls started
Patrick Arman who threw four innings allowing six earned runs on five hits before handing the ball over to
Brendan Talonen.
Â
Talonen was the pitcher who was charged with the loss for Tech going three innings, allowing nine runs on 11 hits while walking three and striking out three.
Â
After falling behind 12-0, Tech was able to still get the offense rolling, scoring runs in the 6th, 7th, and 8th innings.

The Owls were led at the plate by
Matthew Ortiz who went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.
Â
Tech will have a chance to bounce back tomorrow when they face Vanguard at Noon.
