Reyes Repeats as First-Team Academic All-American
Women's Volleyball
AUSTIN, Texas – Oregon Tech outside hitter Nicole Reyes earned the most prestigious honor for a student-athlete, as the fifth-year season was selected as a first-team pick to the 2022 College Sports Communicators NAIA Academic All-America® Volleyball Team.

Reyes, from Fairfield, Calif.,  becomes just the third OIT student-athlete to earn the distinction on two occasions – joining softball player Meghan Webber, who earned the honor in 2001 and 2002, along with cross country/track runner Danielle De Castro in 2019 and 2020.

To earn the honor, a student-athlete must be a first-team All-District selection to make the All-America team ballot, with the squad selected by a panel of sports communicators across the United States and Canada. The student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, maintain a 3.50 or greater grade point average and be a starter or key contributor to their team.

The double-major earned her third All-Cascade Conference honor in 2022, while also being selected as an honorable mention pick to the AVCA All-Northwest Region team. She became just the second player in program history to record 1,100 kills and 1,100 digs in a career.
