KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Evergreen State College completed a season sweep of Oregon Tech, as Zoe Shaw posted 12 kills and 10 digs in a 25-14, 25-23, 25-11 victory at Danny Miles Court.
The loss dropped the Lady Owls to .500 on the season (10-10, 7-7 CCC), despite 11 kills from
Ashley Ripplinger and 11 digs from
Aubrey Kievit.
The Geoducks (11-8, 10-5) used big runs to complete the 3-set sweep. TESC opened the match on a 13-4 run, getting three quick kills from Taylor Suka – and tolled to the early set win.
OIT found their rhythm early in Set 2, as
Nicole Reyes powered down two kills in a 6-1 run to start the period. The Greeners answered with three blocks in a 9-1 surge to take a 15-14 lead. Trailing 18-14, Tech responded, forcing five hitting errors, regaining the lead at 23-21. Following a timeout, TESC took advantage of a service error and two Owls hitting errors to score the final four points to win the set.
Set 3 was all Evergreen, bolting to a 11-3 lead and were never headed.
Lily Stewart had 11 kills, Sierra Wolff posted 28 assists and Suka finished with eight kills without a hitting error in the win, as the Geoducks hit at a .341 percentage.
Reyes had six kills for the Lady Owls, with
Molly Grace and
Kate Hicks each recording five.
OIT returns to action tomorrow night, hosting Northwest University at 5 p.m.
