Men's Basketball
January 26, 2022
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Hustlin' Owls of Oregon Tech garnered four times more votes this week than they did two weeks ago and are now on the cusp of breaking into the NAIA Top 25, still in the receiving votes category up to 68 votes from 17.
"It's been quite the turnaround from a 3-5 start to the season," said head coach
Justin Parnell. "We're as healthy as we've been all season and hopefully that leads to a strong finish in the second half of league."
The College of Idaho moved up to No. 10 in the rankings – which do not take last night's defeat at Eastern Oregon into consideration – and are the only CCC team in the top-25. While Oregon Tech and Lewis-Clark State College are receiving votes in the poll.
The Hustlin' Owls enter this weekend with an overall record of 15-6 and sit alone in first place in the CCC at 12-1. Tech will play Evergreen State Friday at 7:30 pm and Northwest University on Saturday at 5:00 pm at Danny Miles Court.
Friday, fans are encouraged to wear their Hawaiian shirts and shorts and join in the fun. North Shore Hawaiian Plate Lunch will be sold in the concession stand for $8. In addition, the Oregon Tech Hawaiian club will be handing out leis.

Poll Methodology:
- The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and Association of Independent Institutions.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes"
- Frequency of polls occur bi-weekly. This policy was approved by the National Administrative Council (NAC) beginning in the 2016-17 academic season. This change will allow raters the opportunity to consider a larger body of work in between rating periods.
