Hawaiian Night Coming Back to Danny Miles Court (Weekend Preview)

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A night of Hawaiian flare is coming to Oregon Tech's Danny Miles Court this Friday when the Oregon Tech men and women play host to Cascade Conference rival, The Evergreen State College, in a very important conference matchup double-header to kick-off a weekend homestand with Northwest University visiting on Saturday.
Friday, fans are encouraged to wear their Hawaiian shirts and shorts and join in the fun. North Shore Hawaiian Plate Lunch will be sold in the concession stand for $8. In addition, the Oregon Tech Hawaiian club will be handing out leis.
One lucky fan will also have an opportunity to win $5,000 by making a 94-foot full-court putt sponsored by Ed Staub & Sons and Fast Break convenience stores.

The Geoducks enter the weekend at 5-11 overall and 4-9 in Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) play. Evergreen is led by senior Trinity Betoney (13.9 ppg/7.0 rpg) and sophomore Sha'nece Garret (13.5 ppg).
Evergreen is third in the CCC in scoring defense, allowing just 60 points per game, and are second in defensive field goal percentage at .36 percent.
The Lady Owls enter this weekend at 15-5 overall on the year, and 8-5 in CCC action. The Owls have won seven of their last eight games, including a big 69-67 conference win this past Saturday at College of Idaho. Tech is currently in fifth place and looks to move up into the top 4 over the next two weekends.
The Owls are led in scoring by sophomore
Maddyson Tull who is averaging 12.4 points per game. The freshman duo of
Shelby Blodgett and
Olivia Sprague are next in scoring at 12.2 ppg and 8.9 ppg respectively. Blodgett is also the team's leading rebounder at 6.9 per game.

Northwest currently is two games behind OIT entering Friday's game at Southern Oregon at 6-7 CCC and 12-8 overall. The Eagles have three players, all seniors, averaging double-digits in points led by Livi Lindsey 11.8 ppg, Grace Meza at 11.5 ppg, and Sam Vanloo at 11.1 ppg. (Vanloo did not play in Tech's 63-54 win on January 1
st in Kirkland.

Evergreen State (3-14, 3-10 CCC) is 11
th in the conference standings. They have had two-Covid forfeits for losses (EOU/COI) and one-Covid forfeit for a win (Bushnell).
The Geoducks are led in scoring by three graduate students or super seniors: Austin Curry (16.6 ppg, 8.9 rpg.), Labrandon Price (14 ppg, 5.1 rpg.) and Mitch Wetmore (12.3 ppg).
The Hustlin' Owls enter this weekend with an overall record of 15-6 and sit alone in first place in the CCC at 12-1.

Garret Albrecht averaging 11.6 points per game. Albrecht also leads the team in rebounds per game at 6.5. Junior
Matt Van Tassell is second in scoring at 11.1 ppg followed by freshman
Keegan Shivers with a 10.7 average.
The Owls have four players shooting over 40% from three-point range led by senior
Scotty Burge at 47 percent on 34-of-71, Van Tassell follows at 46% on 20-of-44,
Harrison Steiger at 44-percent, and Shivers at 41-percent on 40-of-97.

The Eagle men enter this weekend's action at 6-7 in the CCC and 9-9 overall including a 78-63 win over No. 17 LC State last Saturday.
NU is led by CaCoa Chatman who is averaging 12.7 ppg, Rayvaughn Bolton at 12.1 ppg, Connor Drinkwine 11.7 ppg, and Tanner Davis 11.1 ppg.
OIT won the only matchup earlier this year 83-59 in Kirkland.
