OLYMPIA, WASH. — The Oregon Tech Lady Owls (10-4, 3-4) jumped out to a big lead once again and cruised to a 68-47 victory to earn a pivotal road sweep in CCC play. After defeating Northwest yesterday, the Lady Owls defeated Evergreen State College (4-7, 2-5) in Olympia to start the new year off with a bang.
Following the sweep, HC Scott Meredith said: "It's always great to sweep on the road. Today, we had a solid plan for what they were going to throw at us and we got off to a fast start in the first quarter shooting 66% from the floor while knocking down 4 of 6 3's. Our bench was really good once again and extended our lead in the 3rd quarter. Unlike yesterday, we had our best defensive effort to close out the game in the 4th quarter and overall, was 40 minutes of great team effort."

Looking to kick off 2022 with a road sweep in Washington, Tech won their third straight conference game to move within a game of .500 in CCC play.
As they did just an afternoon earlier against Northwest, Tech used a big first quarter to jump on the Geoducks.
The Lady Owls shot 56.3% in the first quarter en route to grabbing a 23-12 lead after one.
Tech would extend their lead in the second quarter by holding Evergreen to just 27% shooting in the period.
After outscoring the Geoducks 15-11 in the second, the Lady Owls found themselves with a 38-23 lead at the break.
After HC Scott Meredith harped upon "wanting to finish the game stronger," Tech used the second half to continue to pull away from Evergreen State.
The Lady Owls outscored the Geoducks 18-17 in third and 12-7 in the fourth en route to the 21-point victory.
After a challenging fourth quarter yesterday, Tech battened down the hatches and held Evergreen State to just 14% shooting in the fourth.
A key to the big win for the Owls was their 3-point shooting as OIT stroked it from three at a 64% clip.
Tech finished with just one player in double figures, but a few players had a strong game for the Owls as well:
Maddyson Tull: 12 points on 6-of-11 shooting with six rebounds
Shelby Blodgett: 8 points on 2-of-12 shooting with ten rebounds
Abby Kreiser: 9 points on 3-of-7 shooting with seven assists and five rebounds
Evergreen State was led by Sha'nece Garret, who scored a game-high 26 points on 7-of-22 shooting.
Tech returns home this weekend as they host Lewis-Clark State on Friday at 5:30 p.m., then Walla Walla on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Friday will be the annual "Pink-Out" game with the first 1,000 fans receiving a limited edition t-shirt. Sponsored by Sky Lakes Medical Center.
