GRANTS PASS, Ore.- No. 19 Oregon Tech's
Mehana Ortiz (#6 Pictured) scored the only goal of the day as she launched a rocket from 28 feet out that was just out of the reach of the West Oregon University Keeper in the 15
th minute in an exhibition game held at Dutch Bros Soccer Complex. The game was moved from Klamath Falls because of poor air quality in the basin.
Â
"I am really happy with the team's performance today," said head coach
Casey Tate. "We were missing some players that play a lot of minutes for us and we had a lot of players step up today, I thought
Kyra Cambra may have played her best match as an Owl. We talk about being ready for your moment and how we need all of us to be successful and today we did that. Very proud of the group. Now we get ready for a difficult opponent in Linfield this weekend."
Â
For the match, the Owls held an 1-7 edge in shots and a 7-2 advantage in shots on frame.
Â
Maddie Miller led Tech with four shots on the day, two on frame.
Â
Tech will head to McMinnville, Oregon Sunday for games against the Wildcats of Linfield College at 12:00 PM.
