Oregon Tech's Sarah Abramson with 15 Strikeouts in Owls 4-0 win
It was all
Sarah Abramson, all day, as she threw an absolute gem in the circle to send Tech into the Winner's Bracket Championship game.
Abramson threw 7 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 15.
After Abramson stranded a runner in the top of the 1st, Tech drew first blood in the bottom half.
Kaila Mick was hit by a pitch, which brought up
Aubrie Businger. Businger smacked a triple to right-center field, which got the ball rolling for the Hustlin' Owls.
After Tech took a 1-0 lead, both sides would go quiet in the 2nd and 3rd.
Abramson would retire the Comets in order in the 4th, which fired up Tech to extend their lead in the home half.
Kennedy Jantzi would scorch a 1-out double to get a runner into scoring position. Deverna would come in to run for Jantzi, and end up scoring off a wild pitch.
The run scored by Deverna put Tech up 2-0 until the 5th, where the Lady Owls added two more runs.
Tech added both runs after reaching on two bunts, then moving them around. The Lady Owls would plate the runs via an RBI single from Mick and a SAC Fly from Businger.
With a 4-0 lead, Cottey would bring the tying run to the plate in the 6th. The Comets drew a pair of walks and grabbed a single, loading the bases with 2 outs. However, Abramson was equal to the challenge once again, striking Kristen Hurst out looking to end the inning.
In the 7th, Abramson would make her presence felt one last time, striking out the side to claim the victory for Tech.
Oregon Tech will face the winner of No. 2 Coastal Georgia and No. 3 Reinhardt tomorrow at 9:00 AM (Pacific). If the Lady Owls win, they advance to the regional championship game. If the Lady Owls lose, they will play an elimination game at 2:30pm.
