CORVALLIS, Ore.— The Cascade Conference West Division Champion Oregon Tech Lady Owls have earned six postseason awards, including Offensive Player of the Year for Mehana Ortiz and Defensive Player of the Year honors for Amy Morikawa the conference office announced Tuesday.
 
Besides the Player of the Year honors, both Ortiz and Morikawa received All-Conference 1^st Team honors along with teammates Abby Herbert, and Maddie Miller, with goal keeper Alyx Burkhartzmeyer picking up second team recognition and Kyra Cambra receiving all-conference honorable mention honors.
 
Morikawa, a five-foot-seven defender, knows how to stop the opposition's attack, while also getting into the offensive third herself. She has started all 12 games for the Owls and scored three goals from the backline, including two game-winners. The Fullerton, Calif., native helps anchor the Owl defense, limiting opponents to a .33 goals against average with just four goals conceded all year.
 
Ortiz, a five-foot-five freshman forward, has had a stellar collegiate debut. She worked her way into the starting lineup from the beginning and has scored eight goals (second in the CCC), while assisting on 11 others (first in the CCC). The Mililani, Hawaii, native boasts a .580 shots on goal percentage with three of her goals proving to be game-winners. Nationally, Ortiz ranks in multiple categories: fifth in assists per game (.920), 13th in total assists (11), 32nd in points per game (2.25), and 35th in both shots per game (4.17) and shots on goal per game (2.42).
