CORVALLIS, Ore. – Three Oregon Tech athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Conference Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Players of the Week for their performances during the period of March 22-28,2021.  Hunter Drops was named Men's Field Athlete of the Week, Faith Widman was named women's cross country Runner of the Week, while Abigail Herbert was named Offensive Player of the Week both for soccer.
 
Drops, a junior from Coos Bay, Ore., won both the javelin and pole vault with B qualifying marks at the Southern Oregon University Meet #2. Drops' throw of 56.14 or 184 feet, two inches is No. 6 on the national list and his vault of 4.77 is 3 cm from the A and No. 5 on the national list.
 
Widman, a junior from Fairbanks, Alaska, won the Cascade Colligate Conference championship 5K race in 17:4,1 a 42-second improvement on her season-best.
 
Herbert, a five-foot-four senior midfielder from Milwaukie, Ore., scored three goals to help OIT grab two wins. She scored her hat trick against Bushnell University, accounting for three of the Owls' six goals. She also scored the game-winning goal today in Tech's 1-0 win over Southern Oregon.
