Hustlin’ Owls Blank Beacons 5-0

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Five different Oregon Tech (4-4, 2-3 CCC) players scored a goal as the Owls shutout the Beacons of Bushnell University (0-7, 0-5) Sunday at the OIT Soccer Field.

"The men came out strong and had a very good goal from John Sarna and a good finish from Keanu," said head coach Casey Tate. "Jack finished the half with a great hit. Second half was more difficult but Cade with his first collegiate goal on a great follow and Noah with a good placed shot. It was good to score multiple goals and get a win. We need to be ready for a more difficult game tomorrow."

Sophomore John Sarna (Pictured) got the Owls on the scoreboard early, as he headed in a Brock Rideout cross in the fifth minute of play.

Keanu Srivongsana followed 9-minutes later, taking a Sarna pass and scoring in the 14th minute.

Tech's Jack Warner gave the home team a 3-0 lead as he took a 50/50 ball and scored from outside the box into the top left of the goal in the 38th minute.

At the half Tech held an 11-0 lead in shots.

The Hustlin' Owls kept the heat on in the second stanza as Cade O'Neil scored off a deflection to give Tech a 4-0 lead in the 75th minute.

Noah Pham finished off the OIT scoring as he beat a defender and scored past the Beacons' keeper in the 79th minute as Tech won 5-0.

The teams will conclude the two game series Monday at 2:30 pm at the OIT Soccer Field.
