KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech (1-1) failed to complete the weekend sweep of Bushnell (2-2) falling 57-68 at Danny Miles Court on Saturday. Tech couldn't keep up the hot shooting start they embarked on yesterday as they shot 20-74 from the field today.
"I was proud of our effort today," said
Scott Meredith. "We had a lot of good looks offensively today, but we just couldn't get the ball to fall through the hoop. We now have two games on film to evaluate so I expect to see some significant improvements in our play next weekend."
Like Tech did yesterday, Bushnell got off too a great start, as the Beacons shot 50% from the floor. The Lady Owls were able to shoot 50% from the floor as well in the 1st period, but no made 3-pointers from Tech allowed Bushnell to grab a 22-16 lead.
Unfortunately, the Owls weren't able to keep up the good shooting and struggled from the floor in the 2nd quarter, shooting 5-22.
Bushnell didn't decline to heavily still shooting north of 40 %, which was good enough for a 37-30 halftime lead.
In the 3rd Quarter, the missed shots continued to pile up for the Lady Owls who shot a mere 20% from the floor, which allowed Bushnell to open their lead up to double digits.
The Beacons finally cooled down in the 4th quarter, shooting 27.3% from the floor, but the Owls only made 3 shots in the final period which solidified the loss.
Abby Kreiser led the Owls, scoring 15 points on 6-19 shooting while notching 11 rebounds and 8 assists.
Melissa Lee also contributed well for the Owls scoring 12 points.
The Lady Owls will return to action next week when they travel to face off with Corban in a weekend series.
