5 Oregon Tech Owls Named CCC Players of the Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Five Oregon Tech athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Conference Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Players of the Week for their performances during the period of Feb. 1-7, 2021. Patrick Arman was named Pitcher of the Week, with Dalton Daily named Player of the Week from baseball. Amy Morikawa received Defender of the Week honors, while Maddie Miller was named Offensive Player of the Week both for soccer. Tech's Nicole Reyes was named Attacker of the Week for volleyball.    
 
Arman (far right), a six-foot-two freshman pitcher from Santa Clarita, Calif., had 10 strikeouts in seven strong innings, picking up the win for the Owls on the road.
 
Daily (2nd from right), a six-foot-one junior shortstop from Visalia, Calif., had a huge weekend for the Owls at the plate, picking up nine hits in 20 at-bats. He finished the week with a .450 batting average and .900 slugging percentage, with two home runs, seven RBI and six runs.
 
Morikawa (far left) , a five-foot-seven senior defender from Fullerton, Calif., helped Oregon Tech open the season with a dominating 7-0 victory over Simpson University. She anchored the Owl defense that only allowed one shot the entire game.
 
Miller (2nd from left), a five-foot-eight sophomore midfielder from Oregon City, Ore., scored a hat trick in No. 24 Oregon Tech's dominating 7-0 victory over Simpson University to open the season.
 
Reyes (middle), a five-foot-seven junior outside hitter from Fairfield, Calif., helped the Owls go 3-0 to open the season. She finished the week with 3.33 kills and 1.75 digs per set averages. She was a threat at the line, finishing with seven aces and helping OIT grab 11-straight points from the service line. Reyes boasted a .243 attack percentage over the three matches.
