ROCKLIN, Calif. – Oregon Tech (2-0) scored two second half goals on the way to a 3-1 win over William Jessup University (0-2) Saturday afternoon at Jessup Field.
Senior
Kyra Mull gave the Owls an early 1-0 lead as she scored just three-minutes into the opening frame.
Tech freshman
Mehana Ortiz made it a 2-0 Owl lead as she scored just two-minutes into the second half; it was her third goal of the year.
After the Warriors scored to make it 2-1, Tech's Nyah Kendal scored her second goal of the season to finish off the OIT scoring in the 78
th minute, giving the Owls the 3-1 win.
"So proud of the energy we started this game with," said head coach
Casey Tate. "We created a lot of chances and over-all we played very well as a team. We just need to finish our chances and clean up a few things defensively. Happy for the team to get another result and we will continue to work hard and improve."
For the game Oregon Tech held a 26-10 advantage in shots and a 15-8 edge in shots on goal.
Tech keeper
Sydni Nakamura picked up the win with five saves.
Up next, the Owls will travel to Redding. Calif. to play Simpson University on Sunday, February 21
st at noon.
