INDIANAPOLIS -The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) has announced its 2021 Academic All-America® Teams for men's and women's soccer. Oregon Tech had two-student athletes selected: Maddie Miller for women's soccer and Jake Mitchell for men's soccer.
 
The 2021 Academic All-America® men's and women's soccer teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. The cumulative grade-point average may NOT be rounded up to 3.30.
 
Mitchell, a 6-0 senior from Temecula, California is a 1st team selection. He is a mechanical engineering major with a GPA of 3.81. Jake has led his team to a school-record 17-1-3 record. He leads the team with 10 goals and 4 assists for a team-best 24 points. 
 
Miller, a 5-8 junior from Oregon City, Oregon is a 2nd team selection. She is a diagnostic medical sonography major with a cumulative GPA of 4.0. Miller is a two-time all-conference honoree. She started every game for the Owls this year helping lead them to school-record 20-3-1 season. Miller had five goals and two assists for 12 points this year.
 
Miller and Mitchell are the first soccer players to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in program history for Oregon Tech.
