KLAMATH FALLS, OR. — The Oregon Tech Hustlin' Owls (4-4, 1-0 CCC) controlled the tempo in the second half and cruised to a 95-70 victory over Simpson (3-3) on Friday evening. The victory for Tech gets them back to .500 for the first time on this young season.
"Kudos to Simpson as they really controlled the pace in the first half and took us out of rhythm," said head coach
Justin Parnell. "In the second half I thought we really moved the ball and obviously shot the heck out of it.

Fresh off of a victory over their rivals and a short Thanksgiving break, Tech used a hot hand to defeat the visiting Simpson Red Hawks.
After a competitive first half, Tech found themselves with a slim 36-34 advantage at the break.
OIT rode a hot start by
Harrison Steiger, who shot 4-of-4 with a team-high 9 points through 20 minutes.
Tech shot 48% in the first half, and a key to their slim advantage was the fact they had only turned the ball over five times.
In the second half, Matt Van Tassel and
Scotty Burge combined for 27 points to help the Hustlin' Owls blow away.
Tech scored 59 points in the second half on 67% shooting from three which made it impossible for the Red Hawks to keep within striking distance.
Tech finished with four players in double figures:
Matt Van Tassell: 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting with 7 rebounds
Scotty Burge: 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting with 5 rebounds
Keegan Shivers: 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting with 2 rebounds and assists
Joey Potts: 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting with 6 rebounds
The Hustlin' Owls also finished having outrebounded Simpson 45-30, and 26-11 in the second half which was a key to victory.
Tech will be back in action tomorrow when they host Antelope Valley (5-4) at 7:30 pm on Danny Miles Court.
