Tech Falls Just Short After Another Albrecht Career Performance

Ashland, Or. — Oregon Tech (2-4) got out to a big deficit, rallied all the way back, but ultimately fell just short in a 71-65 loss to Montana Tech (5-2) on Saturday afternoon.

Playing in their second invitational championship game in as many Saturday's, Oregon Tech was looking to grab the SOU Flagship Inn Classic.

It was a rough start though for the Hustlin' Owls as Montana Tech would jump out to an early 20-4 lead.

However, Tech would respond, embarking on a 15-0 run to close the deficit to just one.

From that point on, the game was extremely back and forth, but it was Montana Tech who got the stops down the stretch when needed to prevail.

Tech finished with two players in double figures, as Garret Albrecht dominated once again, leading the team in what turned out to be an incredible weekend for the senior.

Garret Albrecht: 27 points, 10-of-17 shooting, 17 rebounds
Kaison Faust: 12 points, 5-of-7 shooting, 6 rebounds

Scotty Burge also had a solid afternoon for OIT with 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Although Tech suffered the loss, the Hustlin' Owls dominated the glass, out-rebounding Montana Tech 50-35.

Tech will be back in Ashland on Tuesday for the start of Cascade Conference play when they take on Southern Oregon at 7:30 pm
