Oregon Tech Dominates Simpson in Game 1 of Lithia Classic

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Oregon Tech Lady Owls (5-0) stormed out to an early lead and cruised to victory in an 83-37 win over Simpson (1-5) on Friday night. The victory for Tech is their 9th straight victory, a streak dating back to last season.

Following the victory, head coach Scott Meredith said: "It was a great team effort tonight. Allowing only 37 points says our players put in a solid defensive effort and I was really happy with how we rebounded at both ends. Our foul shooting continues to be outstanding, and our bench had a very fine game. We are in a good place to begin conference play next week."

Looking to build momentum towards Tuesday's rivalry game against SOU, OIT came out on fire on Friday night.

Tech jumped out to a 20-4 lead in the opening ten-minutes, and never looked back.

The Lady Owls worked the ball well down low and exposed a size difference between the two sides that led to a plethora of points in the paint.

With a 16-point lead after the 1st quarter, Tech extended their lead outscoring the Red Hawks 20-10 in the 2nd period.

With a 40-14 lead at the break, Tech saw themselves with a 55% shooting percentage that made it impossible for Simpson to catch up.

Tech would put it into cruise control in the second half, flying to an 83-37 victory.

The Lady Owls finished with three players scoring in double figures.

Maddyson Tull: 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting
Shelby Blodgett: 12 points on 5-of-16 shooting
Kennedy Tull: 15 points on 5-of-5 shooting

Tech will be back in action next week when they travel to Ashland to take on SOU in the opening game of CCC play on Tuesday at 5:30 PM. Listen Live to the game on 104.3 and 960 Sports with Mike Garrard and Bobby Thompson.
