Â
After a competitive first set, it was no surprise that the second set would be a turning point in the match.
Â
What wasn't known was how much of a turning point it'd be.
Â
Bushnell had jumped out to leads of 5-0 and 8-3, but Tech refused to be put away.
Â
The Lady Owls stormed back, fending off five set points, en route to sending the home crowd into a frenzy when they completed the comeback.
Â
The Lady Owls going up 2-0 changed the whole gameplan, Bushnell had been the better team at points, but the huge set advantage proved to be too big of a hole for the Beacon to climb out of.
Â
The victory over a good Bushnell squad is just the latest feather in the hat of the
Ken Murczek rebuild.
Â
Coach Murczek has quickly built the team into a conference power when just two years ago they were 7-11 at this point in conference play.
Â
Tech now sits in 3rd place in the CCC, with four games to play before the conference tournament.
Â
The Owls came up big in a few major categories which attributed to the win:
Â
Attack Percentage: .204 to .187
Aces: 5 to 4
Errors: 16 to 29
Blocks: 8 to 5
Digs: 67 to 65
Â
Two individuals reached double figures in kills for the Owls:
Kaylin Talonen (18) and
Faith Houck-Wylie (11).
Â
Courtney Isom also displayed a strong performance tallying up 29 assists and 9 digs.
Â
Tech will travel to College of Idaho and #14 Eastern Oregon next weekend in two more pivotal CCC games.
