BILLINGS, Mont. – The Oregon Tech (8-1, 4-1 CCC) men's soccer team earned three more points on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Rocky Mountain College (4-3-2, 1-3-1 CCC).
"The coaches and players should be proud of the hard work they have put in this weekend to get two wins on a very difficult trip, as well as against two very good opponents," said head coach
Casey Tate. "We just have to keep getting better and get ready to play another group of opponents next weekend."
The win for the Owls gives them a share of 1
st place with 12 points in the Cascade Conference standings.
On Saturday, Tech and the Battlin' Bears played a scoreless first half before the Hustlin' Owls got on the scoreboard when
John Sarna (#10 Pictured) scored just two-minutes into the second stanza. Sarna's third goal of the season came in the 48
th minute and turned out to be the eventual game winner, Sarna's second of the season.
Cade O'Neill gave the Owls a little insurance as the sophomore hit his first goal of the season in the 65
th minute.
Tech held an 8-3 advantage in shots, and a big 5-1 edge in shots on goal for the match.
Oregon Tech returns home for a pair of games next weekend against Carroll College on Friday 12:00 PM and Walla Walla University on Sunday at 11:00 AM.
