Baseball Adds Seven Transfers to Roster

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Head coach Jacob Garsez announced today the addition of seven transfers to the 2021 Oregon Tech baseball roster.
 
"The addition of these seven players helped solidify the competitiveness of our roster," said Garsez. "We have a team of quality players, leaders, and competitors that are diligently working to build a culture that will compete to be at the top of our conference and compete at a national level."
 

Jesse Dunham – Bonners Ferry, Id - Lassen CC

Jesse Dunham - RHP/INF
  • 2020 Stats -6-1, 48 IP, 37 K's, 6 BB's, 3.00 ERA | .346 AVG, 4 2Bs, 1 3B
  • As a pitcher, led the Golden Valley Conference (CCAA) in wins, 4th in strikeouts, and 5th in ERA
  • As a hitter was 6th in the Golden Valley conference in batting average
  • In HS was named Player of the Year and received all-league honors all four years

Jesse is the son of Sherry and Greg Dunham and is a communications major.

Kaleb Keelean – Daly City, Calif. – Burlingame High School – Skyline JC - Cal East Bay

Kaleb Keelean - Outfielder
 
  • 2020 Kaleb was the leadoff hitter for Cal State Eastbay and hit .278, with 3 extra base hits, and 10 RBI 
  • 2019 he hit .301 for Skyline College, with 9 extra base hits, and 17 RBI
  • At Burlingame HS he was named 1st team all-PAL .527 while also making the honor roll

Kaleb is the son of Jean Venus Marrow and Andrew Keelean and is a communications major.

Jacob Miller – Albany, Ore. – West Albany High School – Feather River CC

  • 2020 10 appearances as a starter and bullpen, finished the season with a 2-2 record, 6.86 ERA and 14 K's. Threw a complete game, to get the win against UC San Diego
  • 2019 at Feather River College- 18 relief appearances with a 7-0 record, 4 saves, 59 K's, 1.66 ERA in 54.1 innings pitched. All-Conference First Team Honors and All-Academic Team

Jacob is the son of Susan and Mike Miller and is a communications major.

Zack Stockton

Zack Stockton – Stockton Calif. – Tokay High School
  • 2020 played in 15 games for NCAA Division 1 Chicago State University as a catcher. Prior to Chicago State he played at Santa Barbara City College.

Zack is the son of Leslie and Jeff Stockton and is pursuing his master's in Allied Health

 
Cory Doyle – Portland, Ore. - Roosevelt High School – Clark College

  • Cory transfers to OIT from Clark College in Vancouver, WA. In high school he was All-League Honorable Mention batting .350 with 13 stolen bases.

Cory is the son of Peggy and Clinton Doyle and is an electrical engineering major.

Brodie Maloney
Brodie Maloney – Bishop, Calif. – Bishop Union High School – Cabrillo CC
  • Brodie was named 2018 High Desert League MVP and also earned High Desert 1st team honors 2015-2018. He is a transfer from Cabrillo College.

Brodie is the son of Krista and Tim Maloney and is an environmental science major.

 
Ezekiel Cruz – Folsom, Calif. – Vista Del Lago High School – Cosumnes River CC

  • Ezekiel transfers to Oregon Tech from Cosumnes River College, where he played in 13 games as a freshman.

Ezekiel is the son of Tineal and Robert Cruz and is marketing major.
 
The 2021 season of Hustlin' Owls baseball begins Friday, January 29 and 30 with double-headers in Rocklin, California against William Jessup University.
