Fink Named Finalist for Oregon Sports Awards

PORTLAND, Ore. – The winner of last year's Ad Rutschman Small College Athlete of the Year award,
Mitchell Fink of Oregon Tech, was announced today as a finalist for the same award again this year presented by the Oregon Sports Awards.
Fink led the Owls to the NAIA DII National Championship game in 2019 and had the Owls poised for a deep run again this year until the Championship event was cancelled due to COVID-19.
"To be nominated for the Ad Rutschman Athlete of the Year award is a tremendous honor," said Oregon Tech head coach
Justin Parnell. "Mitchell is very deserving of all of the accolades he has received and will continue to receive as his career continues professionally. He is a once in a lifetime type player and I personally feel extremely fortunate to have coached him."
Earlier this year Fink added All-American honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches and is part of the 10 players listed from NAIA Division II ranks. Fink also received his second straight first-team effort, and his third All-American honor overall.
Some of Fink's accomplishments:
— Oregon Tech all-time career scoring leader 2,178
— Oregon Tech all-time assist leader, 886
— Oregon Tech sixth with three-point field goals, 210
— Three-time All American, 2019 and 2020 first team All American
— Three-time Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Year (1st player ever in the CCC)
— 2019 Oregon Sports Awards Ad Rutschman Winner as "small-college male Athlete of the Year"
— Led Hustlin' Owls to the 2019 Cascade Collegiate Conference title
— Led Hustlin' Owls to the 2019 NAIA Division II national championship game
— Led Hustlin' Owls to four NAIA Division II national tournaments
— Has won 100 games as a Hustlin' Owl (100-36)
Fink is also is one of just 13 players since 1945 to play four-year men's college basketball, at any level, and finish with more than 2,000 career points and 800 assists.
