KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech (19-11, 13-7 CCC) finished up regular season play on Saturday night with a blowout 105-65 victory against Multnomah University (5-22, 2-18 CCC) to secure fourth place in the Cascade Conference.
 
The Lady Owls will enter the Cascade Conference quarterfinals hosted by US Bank as the No. 4 seed and will host No. 5 seed Corban University this Tuesday at Danny Miles Court with tip-off at 7:00 pm. Tickets for Tuesday playoff game will be available in the Athletics office starting at 9:00 am Monday morning February 24. Reserved seat season ticket holders will have until 12:00 pm Tuesday to claim their seats before they are available to the general public. "Our team was very patient tonight and with tremendous effort and production from our bench we found a way to get it done, said OIT head coach Scott Meredith. "Exceptionally happy of the way we came out defensively in the second half and once again, we rebounded really well. We are looking forward to hosting a first-round playoff game next Tuesday in honor of our fans."
 
The Lions started off with the lead in the first quarter as an opening 9-2 run featuring two made three-pointers that gave them the edge. The Owls were unable to come back through the remainder of the quarter, falling short by only two points at 18-16.
 
That changed early in the second as Tech went on a 9-1 run to take the lead in what would be the first and last lead change of the game. The Lady Owls took a 29-18 advantage in the stanza and continued pushing in the third, with a 17-4 run putting them at a 22-point advantage.
 
Sophomore Kristin Farrell further lengthened the lead later in the period, scoring three from behind the arc to lead Oregon Tech on a 14-4 run. The Owls finished things off in the fourth with a 15-3 run that allowed them their ending 40-point lead.
 
The Lady Owls were led by Farrell, who scored 17 in the game and made 5-of-7 three-pointers. She was followed by three freshmen – Makaila Napoleon scored 16 and made two blocks, Maddyson Tull scored 13, and Emma McKenney notched 11.
 
Junior Beth Derner rounded off the double-digit scorers for Tech with 10 points and four steals, also contributing nine rebounds to a 52-30 edge.
 
Alaygza Portis scored game high, bringing in 20 points and three steals for the Lions. Rachelle Tau scored a double-double for the team with 16 points and 10 rebounds, also scoring Multnomah's only two blocks. Dalila Rincan tallied another 15 in the game.
 
The Lions struggled to score in the game, shooting at only 36% from the field and 27% from long range. The Owls shot at 53% from the field and 46% from long range.
 
Oregon Tech led 51-13 from the bench and 52-28 in the paint and earned a 28-14 advantage in points off turnovers.
 
Junior Abby Kreiser tallied 13 assists in the game to lead the Owls to a 28-15 assisting edge.

CCC RELEASE

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The seeds for the 2019-20 Cascade Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Championship Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank, were finalized Saturday night.
 
After defeating Eastern Oregon University 74-66 for its first outright CCC Championship, Northwest Christian University picked up the top seed of the tournament and the automatic bid to the NAIA tournament. The Beacons finished the regular-season with a 23-5 overall, 17-3 conference mark.
 
The Mountaineers grab the second seed after ending the regular-season with a 21-9 overall record, 15-5 in the CCC. Southern Oregon University enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed, while Oregon Tech rounds out the top-four, which also serve as hosts for the first round. The Hustlin' Owls got the tiebreaker over Corban University, despite both teams boasting a 13-7 CCC record.
 
Corban takes the five seed spot, while Warner Pacific University picked up the No. 6 seed. College of Idaho and Northwest University round out the eight teams advancing to the championship as the seventh- and eighth-seeded teams.
 
The quarterfinals begin Tuesday at the campus sites of seeds No. 1-4.
