Erickson Returns to Lead #8 Owls Past Knights

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Junior Garrett Albrecht scored a career high 20 points and senior Seth Erickson (#23 pictured by Tanner Karp) rejoined the team after an injury to score 22, leading #8 Oregon Tech (23-6, 13-6 CCC) to a 99-73 victory over Warner Pacific (14-14, 9-10 CCC) on Friday night at Danny Miles Court.

"We are playing really efficiently offensively, and tonight was another example of our willingness to play together and move the ball," commented Head Coach Justin Parnell. "Having Ty Hieb and Seth Erickson back makes a huge difference in our energy and substitutions. I love the way this group is competing!"

The Owls got off to a slow start in the first half as the Knights scored three on a foul and then landed a three-pointer to take an early lead. However, three-pointers from senior Mitchell Fink, junior Scotty Burge, and Erickson gave Tech the boost they needed as they went 14-2 to claim the lead for good.

The second half opened with a seven-point push from the Hustlin' Owls, and a 13-2 run later in the period sent them to a 32-point advantage as they blasted past Warner to take the game.

Erickson led the Owls with his 22, scoring 4-of-5 from long range on his debut after a nine-game absence due to injury. Junior Harrison Steiger and Fink each added six assists, with Steiger also tallying 17 points and Fink adding 13.

Miles Brown scored 19 to lead the Knights and was followed by Jalen Ballard, who notched 15 points. KJ Bosco scored eight points and also tallied seven boards and three assists.

Oregon Tech shot at 54.5% from long range on the night, making 12-of-22 from behind the arc. The Owls also held a 36-24 rebounding edge, a major 25-9 assisting advantage, and a 34-16 lead from the bench.

Warner forced eight turnovers while only committing seven of their own, but Tech was able to take a 16-10 advantage off of their mistakes.

The victory sends the Hustlin' Owls to a tie for third place in regular season Cascade Conference play with Northwest University. The team will play their final regular season game tomorrow at 7:30 pm at Danny Miles Court against Multnomah University on Senior night as the Owls honor Erickson, Fink, Tyler Hieb, and Jordan Henderson before beginning the Cascade Collegiate Tournament with a home game on Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Playoff tickets will be available starting this Saturday night in the Athletics lobby at 5:00 pm and online at OregonTech.UniversityTickets.com with pricing: Reserved $10, General $8.
