ASHLAND -- Oregon Tech went on a match-ending 5-0 run to avoid a fifth set against Life Pacific, winning its season opener 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, 26-24 on Saturday afternoon in the SOU Volleyball Invite at Lithia Motors Pavilion.

Melody Edwards accounted for three of those points with kills, finishing with a match-high 11 on 25 attempts to go with seven of the team's 13 blocks.
Camryn Johnson added 10 kills,
Faith Houck-Wylie had eight kills and was in on six blocks, and setter
Jaime Toedtemeier directed a .138 attack with 40 assists.

Life Pacific dropped to 1-2 in the tourney. Hannah Caddow recorded team-highs of 10 kills and 17 digs, and spurred the Warriors as they hit .242 in a third-set victory.

The Owls will play again at 6 p.m. against Simpson (Calif.).
